In a new letter to local Democrats, our chair Vinz Koller makes the case for our strong endorsement of Dave Potter for Supervisor: It's Dave's record on land use, water policy, jobs, infrastructure, public safety, fiscal management, seniors housing and more.
Reasons like these are why local environmentalists like Keith Vandevere have said that Dave "has simply the best environmental record of anyone in the race." Read Vinz's letter here.

Monterey City Manager Fred Meurer, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Congressman Sam Farr
Congressman Sam Farr (D-Carmel) and Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan), Co-Chairs of the Defense Communities Caucus, hosted Defense Secretary Leon Panetta at a March 29 meeting with caucus members to discuss the possibility of future military base realignments and closures and its impact on defense communities across the country. The meeting also included discussion on the "Monterey model", which has created strong collaborations between Central Coast military installations, local government and the surrounding community; and has been seen a national model to follow.
In addition to 19 Members of Congress, the meeting included the participation of Fred Meurer, Monterey City Manager and former president of the Association of Defense Communities (ADC), and John Armbrust, the current president of the ADC. Mr. Meurer has worked to develop collaboration efforts in Monterey between the area's military installations and its community.
